Description

If you’re craving a sweet smoke that leaves you relaxed, then Bubba Kush is for you. The genetic history of this strain can be traced back to the Hindu Kush mountains; however, its complete history is almost unknown due to poor documentation. Bubba Kush is 100% indica, so you can anticipate a relaxing body high that will leave you couch locked. Many patients prefer this strain due to its ability to alleviate insomnia, depression, stress, and/or ADD/ADHD. Although Bubba Kush can relieve many ailments, it is not a daytime strain; that is unless you plan on sleeping your day away. Upon smoking, you will be introduced to an earthy and sweet taste accompanied by a piney scent. Bubba Kush has vivid green and purple buds that are coated in amber hairs. The abundance of trichomes makes this strain almost as sticky as bubblegum itself.
Bubba Kush is a heavy indica hybrid that enjoys very wide popularity. The strain’s original L.A. breeder claims that while one parent was an OG Kush plant, the other was an unnamed Northern Lights phenotype brought back from Mardi Gras in New Orleans; this unnamed mother strain affectionately came to be known as “Bubba,” and has since been lost. Prior to 1998, Bubba Kush was only available as a clone, but it has since been replicated so that its seeds could be packaged and sold. Bubba Kush is a classic indica with a solid sedative high that leaves users relaxed but still functional. It has a typically high THC content, ranging from 15% to 22%.
Bubba Kush has small to medium sized buds that have the dense bud structure characteristic of indica varieties. The leaves are dark green and can sometimes show shades of purple, the result of anthocyanin pigments having been activated by cold temperatures during the growing process. This is a very resinous strain — a coating of white trichomes covers the colorful leaves, and are even visible on the inside when buds are broken open. The flowers have a vague aroma of coffee or cocoa, with some slight fruitiness beneath. When burnt, Bubba Kush smells more hashy and spicy, as might be expected of a Kush, with smoke that is fairly harsh and cough-inducing. Notably, this is one strain whose purple flowers do not result in a grape-like taste: the pigments that determine Bubba Kush’s color do not affect flavor. The taste is mostly dank, with some sweetness and a peppery kick in the exhale. This is also a particularly pungent strain — users concerned about discretion should plan accordingly.
Unusually for such an indica-heavy strain, Bubba Kush’s high begins with a warped, disoriented sensation in the head. This fogginess, however, gives way to a more expected body melt that intensifies as the high wears on. Although not necessarily energized, smokers can maintain mental focus and converse or perform tasks as needed. Mostly, users will experience heavy, slow-breathing relaxation and a palpable sense of physical comfort. Couchlock is uncommon, leaving users functional and alert.  Bubba Kush’s medical uses are mental as well as physical — it can provide some relief from anxiety and depression in addition to soothing chronic, deep-seated aches and pains. In large enough doses, it can serve as treatment for insomnia as well. Many users describe increased appetite as a common side effect. Well-suited to nighttime or lazy daytime use, Bubba Kush’s stimulation of both body and mind makes it great for activities that involve both — including, but not limited to, exercise and sex.
Bubba is a relatively easy to grow and is recommended for newcomers to cannabis cultivation.  Stocky and bushy like most other indica varieties, its plants can be grown indoors, outside, or in a greenhouse. Outdoors, the strain has the advantage of being naturally resistant to molds and other pests, but growers will have to ensure consistent sunlight and a constant daytime temperature between 72 and 80 degrees Fahrenheit. Bubba Kush grows well indoors in soil, but may have a higher yield if grown in hydroponic solution. The strain flowers between 8 and 9 weeks when gropwn  indoors and is ready for harvest outdoors in early October. Though the yield for the plants of this strain is typically lower — from 32 to 35 grams (or 1 to 1.2 ounces) per square foot — the quality of the flowers is very high. The dense buds are covered in sticky trichomes, making them valuable for curing and direct sale as well as for production of hash and other concentrates. Growers should be sure to properly cure the mature buds by hanging them upside down for about a week in a room that maintains 50% humidity and a consistent temperature of 70 degrees Fahrenheit; and then sealing the dried buds in wide-mouthed jars in a room with a temperature of 70 degrees Fahrenheit and 60-65% humidity.
With a healthy fan base and immediate name recognition, Bubba Kush is a staple of the U.S. cannabis market. Its potency and solid indica genetics have crossbred into a slew of child strains like Blackberry Kush, Bubba’s Gift, and Madness. Definitely more of a nighttime strain, this aromatic smoke and relaxing high can be a great way to unwind after a long day.

I am a Veteran who suffers from ptsd as well as severe depression . Anti depressants have never worked, way too many bad side affects . I use CBD oil everyday, yes it is prescribed. This medication has got me actually out and about, cleaning my house and doing things I have not been able to do for about 9 years. In my opinion more people should be getting off of pills, but big pharma will fight tooth and nail to stop that from happening. They also have some Dr.’s convinced medical marijuana is evil, unless it’s pill form of course. The pill is called Cesemet and it is synthetic pot. I was prescribed that as well once upon a time, it made me so high I was scared to death. I do not like to get high, CBD’S treat everything from pain to anxiety. I do not have to get high to receive treatment. People need more education about medical marijuana , it is not a gateway drug.

Effects are classic indica; sleepy hungry and happy. A moderate dose results in a feeling just short of couchlock, allowing you to stay mobile, but at the same time making you chair feel insanely comfortable. The high left me clear headed, I was able to respond well and carry on an intelligent conversation. At the same time i was also able to enjoy the music that was playing. This weed did not make me introspective or deep in thought like smoking usualy does, however during the high i found myself ‘living in the moment’ and enjoying the little things in life. Very relaxing, and the high lasted 2+ hours and ended with a great nights sleep

  2. milestone

Hit hard at first but effects came soon after. Great color and feel. Smell wasn’t very potent but strong high. Heavy high but able to concentrate and socialize. Will buy again.

I think this one may be my favorite thus far. It provides good mental stimulation and physical relaxation. I’m always interested in strains that promote sleep and this one fits the bill. It’s also good for recreational activities such as movies or music. My wife tells me this strain produces a much stronger odor compared to others, so I tend to vape instead of smoke it when stealth is desired. But the buzz is very pleasant and HIGH-ly recommended.

  4. ASHLEY

Was completely edgy and stressed when I picked up. I finally finished it off and even afterward I feel wonderful. All the stress I had is gone, its just RUINED the part of my brain that overthinks things. I was bordering on neurotic but this ganja fixed it. Another really great note: you can keep cheifing without feeling like shit. I’m not a very high tolerance smoker, probably near midway. Didn’t green out, didn’t even feel pukey after destroying a couple grams. I LOVE THIS.

  5. erzther

Very good strain. I typically suffer from paranoia and anxiety from smoking marijuana, but with this strain I felt very comfortable and happy. The relaxing feeling felt very nice as I tend to have stress a lot as well. I would highly recommend this strain to anyone looking for a nice relaxing night …

  7. mcclain

Big chillin feels like a 70/30 indica dominant hybrid, almost like going on a run and you’re hit with the euphoria of exercising without actually doing anything besides expanding your lungs. bubba gump, run forest, run through the forest of weed and smoke this strain it will have you good qB’)

Negative symptoms: nervousness, drowsiness, lack of self motivation, may cause schizophrenia, paranoia, and slight hallucinations Positive symptoms: relaxed when comforable, decreases pain, belief of another world. to be honest i do appreciate the quality of bud you produce i think the quantity of bud compensates the long delivery duration. had to wait few more hours to receive my package but my homeboys enjoyed it and i loved it.

    Amazing for nausea and pain

Personally my favorite strain, Bubba Kush (BK) delivers a high unparalleled to most other strains. At first glance, BK is marvelous to look at. With hints of puprle and deep green on the outside of the bud, it turns a beautiful white once you go deeper into the bud. The taste is very hard to describe, but just think of tasting the air of a sugar cane field in a pinewood forest. The feeling hits you within 2 tokes, which seems to start deep from the very center of your brain and expands out to the bottom of your feet. Once fully medicated, the user will feel almost perfectly content with his/her suroundings, almost immediately wiping away the bad energy from a day out in this world. One adverse side affect is that if I tend to over-medicate on BK, I fell a tad anxious, but the feeling is minimal at best, and usually washes away when you grub out or take a nice cruise. All in all, I highly recommend BK for any ailment, or for any time. tried it when i was 19 cant think of any better strain than the bk
